Editorial Policy and Terms of Use

How Expert in Gaming sources, dates and corrects its pages, why it accepts no paid coverage, and the terms on which you may use what is published here.

By Expert in Gaming Editorial TeamUpdated

This page explains how Expert in Gaming decides what is true enough to publish, how we keep pages current, and the terms on which the content may be used. It applies to every page on expertingaming.com.

Sources come first

For any load-bearing fact (a licence fee, a tax rate, a commencement date, a fine) we go to the primary source: the regulator’s website or public register, the statute or regulation itself, an official gazette, a court judgment or the regulator’s published enforcement decision. Trade press is used for context and to find stories, then checked against the original document wherever one exists. Each page lists the sources it relies on.

Where a figure is not published by the body responsible for it, we say so instead of estimating. Where sources conflict, we follow the more authoritative and more recent one and, if the difference matters, describe both.

Dates on everything that can change

Gambling regulation moves quickly. Time-sensitive statements are written with a date (“as of October 2026”, “from 1 July 2024”), and each page shows when it was last updated. A changed fact means a changed page, not a footnote.

Independence

We accept no payment for coverage, inclusion, ranking or removal, and we publish no sponsored articles. Companies, regulators and programmes are named because they are relevant facts, never as endorsements. The site does not promote gambling operators to players.

Corrections

Send corrections to the address on our contact page, ideally with a link to the source. We check the claim against that source, correct the page if we were wrong and update its date. We do not remove accurate, sourced information because a company dislikes it.

Terms of use

  • The content is general information for industry professionals. It is not legal, tax or regulatory advice and does not create any adviser relationship. Check the current rules with the regulator and a qualified adviser before you act.
  • We work to keep pages accurate but cannot guarantee that every detail is complete or current at the moment you read it, and we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of this site.
  • You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link to the page. Republishing whole pages requires our written permission.
  • Links to regulators, registers and other external sites are provided for verification; we are not responsible for their content.

Readers who want the regulatory background can start with the licensing comparison or the glossary. Data handling is described separately in our privacy policy. More about the site is on the about page.
